Today, Facebook integrated Live web search into their site search bar. When searching on Facebook, you can select whether to search Facebook, or to search the web.
Facebook has chosen their own style for the search results, rather than the traditional search results style used by Live, Yahoo and Google. The search results are not exactly the same as those returned at live.com, but they are close.
One very interesting feature of their implementation is that Facebook returns the ranking of the website in their referral link, making it very easy for analytics suites to display the keyword ranking for each search referral they send.
We’ve already added support for this at KeywordEnvy, so you can view search referrals from Facebook in your incoming search feed. We also plan to add support for tracking your rankings in Facebook, but we’d like to see how much this new search feature is used by Facebook users first.
